Most people have no idea of which are the safe oil warmers leave alone choosing the best oils. Important to note however is that scented oils are not the same as essential oils as they are a blend of synthetic and natural products. The care applied in their manufacture also makes them safe for domestic use, in the bath tub or on the body. Another challenge comes knowing where to find the best oils, which are strong and long lasting, or the companies that manufacture them.
How strong a candle is and how long it will stay in use depend on the producer. As a basic rule, a poor quality candle loses its sweet smell within a short period or lacks any smell once some heat is applied. To save your money and retain your customers if you are a seller of these oils, test them for quality before buying them in large quantities.
Only oils of the highest quality as found by the tests on oils from different producers should you sell to your customers. Fragrance oils have the same to ability calm and sooth your body like the essential oils.
Another tip to use while buying oils is buying oils in bulk, and then re-bottle them yourself as buying them ready to sell bottles, with even labels on them does not guarantee you of the same quality bottle from bottle.
There are two types of warmers commonly used: tea light and electric. Electric warmers have been found to be the safest to use since tea light warmers normally use a tiny candle that has a flame that heats up the oil. Once a certain flash point has been exceeded, the oil can causes catch fire. The inability to control the extent to which the flame gets hot makes them dangerous.
Oil sputter, boil or oil burning within a short time causes a lot of wastages in tea light warmers. Tea light warmers should never be left burning unattended since they can cause fires any time.
The most common type of bulb is a 35 watt bulb. Another feature of these warmers is a dimmer control making it not only an ingenious invention, but also safer. To keep the scent constant and saves on the oil one only needs to turn the warmer high for some minutes, and then you can turn it down to half. Production of what appears as “white smoke” is completely normal. This is really not smoke but vapor that is produced by the oil, when it burns. This vapor is due to the evaporation of the oil and it is what fragrances the whole house. Burning oils is however not associated with black soot like burning candles.
When the fragrances feels a little too strong, the best cause is to add some water continuously to the warmer then some drops of oil till the fragrance is comfortable enough..
