Yowee just this morning, will you C/C please?
I so learn so much from my back porch
In the clearing, out of the woods
a fawn was born.
I dropped my tea
as the mother stumbled
giving birth.
Running, finding
a baby covered still in the effluent
I screamed.
out,in,out again
running with towels
I know nothing
about giving birth
but know the worth of life.
Chilled, cleaned, carried to the barn
Roped and led the Doe came too.
We tag teamed
as I blanketed both
Lighting the stable stove
placing new life next to its source.
Momma came, hearing me,
“I have chores to do today.”
‘No child, I’ll go, you stay’
Slave are there no natural anomolies?
I guess the mom and dad didn’t read the rule book?
Where’s the F-ing Buck when you need him.
Maybe he could kick some Barry Carter butt.
Where O where in this poem did it say it was FALL or that you weren’t IN THE WOODS when this happened?
(Cute poem by the way, but the theme deserves more effort.)
