For your body and mind, obsession is something that is a form of compulsion for the body, which sometimes become so strong that it rules your mind. In medical terms we describe addiction as an excessive psychological dependence. Addictions can come in any form and to a person of any age group. Among various addictions, few of very common are drug addiction, alcoholism, money addiction, crime addiction, word addiction, video game addiction, nicotine addiction, TV addiction, and compulsive overeating. These are some of the very common and known addictions that are widely prevalent. Above was the meaning of addiction in laymen language. In medical term and doctor’s sophisticated language, addiction is that state of body when it’s functioning is highly dependent upon a substance for its normal functioning. And when that substance is immediately removed, it will cause body to withdraw some set of functions and symptoms. This withdrawal stops the body to function normally and hence creates a problem and trouble. Thus, addiction in any form is fatal for health and should be definitely nipped in the primary stage only lest it mounts to a height to rule and dominate you. Numerous schools and institutes have been laid to help people curtail their smoking and other addictions and set their minds and body free from the substance causing addiction so that they can live normally and freely. Many people come here in a miserable condition and move out in their conscience with a healthy mind and body. Shockingly, some people even don’t know that they have addiction and need to get rid of it.
