Tea Kettles Whistling

Painting a stainless steel tea kettle?
I was given a basic whistling stainless steel tea kettle for the holidays and was curious as to what types of paints I might be able to use to paint the surface to give it a more unique and decorative style.
I know there are some high heat spray paints out there, and I would probably use something like this as a base coat, but is there anything I can use on top of that for more artistic approaches and still have the tea kettle fully functional without chemicals being emitted from the paint, or ruining the artwork on the kettle.

What might be some other solutions if a stainless steel kettle can not be safely painted and remain functional? Are there other types of kettles that could be used?
Getting paint to stick to stainless steel is not so easy especially when it is going to be subjected to large temp. changes. I would suggest not doing it if you still want to have it be functional and last as a decorative piece.
