Tea Infusions Chocolate

Hi fellow seniors, do you take sugar in your beverages?
I have been a lifelong user of white and brown sugar in my tea, coffee and hot chocolate but during the past few months owing to blood sugar issues I have had to cut it completely out.
It took me a little while to get used to it and thankfully now I don’t miss it at all and my health checks have proven that I have done the right thing.
I would be interested to know how you like your infusions, with or without and if like me you stopped adding sugar did you miss it ?
I first stopped using sugar in everything when I was 19, and on a campaign to slim down before going to college. (Cutting out sugars in my beverages was but a small part of that diet–which worked just as I wanted it to, by the way!)
At first I used artificial sweeteners in my coffee and tea, but really disliked the aftertaste, so quickly learned to do without completely.
Now I much prefer all of my drinks to remain unsweetened. (If I get a mouthful of sweet that I am not expecting while I am drinking, I am most likely to spew!)
Here is a much harder challenge for you Lily–from a health view and from a tolerance view…. Get rid of all of the added salt in your diet! Do not add it to anything you cook. Period. Not during the cooking process, nor after you help yourself to your serving. I had to do this way back when the girls were small because of some health concern of my then husband. It was SO HARD getting used to the taste of food without salt, and took quite awhile too-I would say a minimum of a couple of months. But once you are used to doing without the salt, and can actually TASTE your food, you would swear you are not ever going to go back! Food just tastes so much BETTER without the pollution of salt on it!
