How long does it take for Caffeine to affect me sleeping?
I often drink tea quite late, but I was wondering how long I should leave it before the caffeine in the tea will affect me going to sleep.
Say if I go to sleep at 11 O’clock. Would drinking tea at 10 O’clock be ok or would that affect my sleep? What is the latest I could drink it before going to bed?
Different people have different experiences with caffeine. Do your own trial-and-error experiment on a day where you can afford to stay up late and lose some sleep, and see what happens.
My personal experience is that drinking tea at 10 O’clock would definitely keep me awake, unless it was very weakly caffeinated tea.
If I am going to bed around 11, I would usually avoid drinking tea after 5. Some people are fine drinking it right before going to bed, whereas others need to leave longer, like 7 or even 10 hours. Each person is different!
