Drinking the lemon tea will also help in decreasing the likelihood of developing the virus because of the tea’s antiviral properties. Of course, garlic is considered one of the primary means to treat cold sores because of an ingredient called Kyolic. By cutting a clove of garlic in half, Kyolic content is released. Placing the cut surface on the cold sore for one or two minutes may help treat the cold sore. This remedy also has the same effect when the victim of a cold sore takes two garlic capsules per day.

You can make your own homemade cold sore formula.
