Silver Tea Length Dresses

Is it appropriate for the MOB to wear black to the wedding?
I am getting married this december, and we are having a church wedding/reception at 2 in the afternoon. Our colors are pink, black, and silver/white. The only thing I asked of my mother when looking for a dress was that she not choose a black dress, as I have always held the belief that black was a color to show dissapprovement of the wedding or “mourning”. The dress she found is black and tea length, with a little rhinestone accent on the sleeves…its very Audrey Hepburn in its style, and I have to admit it’s a very pretty dress. But for a daytime wedding, I just don’t know if black is ok?? And if so, should I tell my MIL that she can wear black too? Any advice would be great! I don’t know if this is a battle I should pick or not!

It kind of shoots your argument against it out the window. Let her wear the black dress.
