Math Homework Help Please?

We are doing proportions in math and I’m really confused…
Ok so we have a recipe for Russian Tea Cake Cookies and the recipe makes 48 cookies…but I need 75 cookies. I need half a cup of powdered sugar to make 48 cookies. This is how he wants us to set up the problem:

1/2 /48 = x/75
48•x=1/2•75
48x=37.5
48x/48=37.5/48
x=0.781
x=??

And that’s where I’m lost…I don’t know how to change the last decimal into a mixed number/fraction.
If you can help please leave the answer and how you got it…thank you!

Begin at the step where you wrote 48x/48 = 37.5/48.

Rather than doing long division to get a decimal, make it a fraction you can reduce:

x = 37.5/48
which means
x = 375/480

factor 15 out of both numerator and denominator
x=25/32
