what is the most popular brand of green tea in japan?
i bought this green tea and cant stand the way how it taste so bad and want something better but dont know what brand to pick from. i got this Lipton tea bags of pure green tea.
I agree with Carl, plus the Temperature of water makes a big difference, too. Boiling water, which is appropriate for making English tea, is too hot for green tea. Water should be brought to boil, then cooled to about 70 degrees C (this can be achieved by poring boiling water into an empty pot, then into the cups to be used, then back into the pot, this time with leaves). If you must use tea bags, 80 – 90 degrees C should be the right temperature.
Sorry I cannot help you with brand names, but I doubt that there are any nationally recognized brands. For us it’s like milk – we just know what we like through trial and error without depending on the name.
Addition: Try picking up a Japanese-made green tea at least. Lipton is a British company.
