Flower Tea Cups

Is there really a tea that makes a flower open up like in the movie Marie Antoinette?
In the movie, she says it was sent to her by the Emperor of China, and when she pours the tea into a cup the flower opens up… it was really cool. Does anyone know if this can really happen? If it’s not the tea then it could be the flower, I’m not sure.
Yeah! I just watched that movie &I had to look that up as soon as it was over..
There are videos on YouTube showing the tea working, &pretty much if you search =flowering tea= there are quite a few places to buy it online. The reviews on taste are pretty divided.. Half say how great it taste &the rest say its crappy &just for looks.. I guess this would be something that falls in the catagory of it’s good to try everything once…

“Flowering Tea Production: Handsewn flowering teas are produced in remote tea gardens in southwestern Yunnan province in China near the borders of Laos and Vietnam. White, green and black teas are picked in the early mornings. While damp, the tea leaves are flattened and sewn with cotton thread into the various shapes and bundles. (Tea leaves may also be scented with jasmine blossoms before sewing begins for a more floral flavor.) Some shapes take about one minute to sew while other more eloborate designs may take up to 10 minutes. While still moist, the leaves are shaped into balls, mushrooms, cones, etc. Finally, the teas go through the usual drying, oxidation and firing process.”
