Electric Tea Kettle Cordless Stainless

How do I fix an electric kettle that will no longer heat?
I have a stainless steel electric tea kettle, made by “Chef’s Choice International.” I accidentally left the lid open when using it and all of the water evaporated. The automatic shut off sensor didn’t kick in, presumably because the steam didn’t collect inside as it would normally. So, it kept on heating til I checked in on it. This has happened a couple of times and now my kettle won’t heat up at all. Is there a way to fix this?
