The Green Tea Plant and Its Amazing Life Saving Qualities
Let’s face it, you have probably heard that drinking tea made from the green tea plant is good for you. But did you know that it is being hailed as one of the most promising anti-cancer compounds ever found? Serious stuff!
So here is a little background on the green tea plant, or to give its proper name, camellia sinensis.
Green tea comes from the same plant as our more familiar black tea does, but it’s the way it’s produced that makes all the difference.
The green tea plant is picked and the leaves are steamed, then rolled and dried. In doing so all the powerful antioxidants are left intact, for it is these which provide us with the amazing health benefits.
The other types are left to ferment, and they lose to a great extent, their health giving powers.
The list of health giving attributes continues to rise, the main one being its cancer fighting abilities.
It will also help lower your cholesterol, and give a boost to your immune system, keeping flu and colds at bay. It has also been shown to boost metabolism and can help you lose weight as part of a diet.
Perhaps the most intriguing benefit is its anti aging properties. Extract from the green tea plant has been shown to reverse the aging process, due to its high level of antioxidants. A very popular benefit in today’s world I’m sure!
So the list goes on. But what is the best way to get the maximum benefit? Well, it should really be taken as part of a combined health supplement, to gain the most from its synergistic properties.
This means that when combined with other natural nutrients, more health benefits are derived than if just drinking it on its own or taking a pill.
The extract from the green tea plant in supplements for example is decaffeinated, and contains around the same amount as if you drank 4- 5 cups a day. Decaffeinated tea is not recommended, as the process used to strip out the caffeine can take away a lot of the health giving properties as well.
You should be aware that green tea is synergistic with turmeric and olive leaf among others, and that their combined reaction can greatly enhance its ability to help improve your health and well being.
