Which is better for proper tea brewing… (Tetsubin ) cast iron or ceramic teapot?
I’m a novice in the world of loose leaf tea drinking and am looking into purchasing a teapot to brew it in. I was just told that the cast iron is not good for the tea’s properties because it gets too hot which “kills” all the great properties tea has to offer. Is there any truth to this?
I was really leaning towards purchasing a cast iron because some of them look so beautifully crafted. Is there really any difference? I wasn’t going to put it over a burner to boil but just to brew over tea light warmer so I don’t think it would really heat it up to the point of boiling, right? Am I wrong?
Please help…because cast iron teapots tend to be pricey.

Yea. Cast iron is just to heat the water faster so you don’t have to wait a longer time to boil and spoils the taste a little. You can use a ceramic pot if you like but it takes more time to boil the water but the taste will be there. It depends really which you prefer cause if you were to brew on a light warmer using a ceramic pot, it takes a longer time but if you use a iron pot, it faster. It all depends really on you.
