A fire pit can be good for the environment and help you save on energy bills. Because a traditional fire pit uses only ordinary wood fuel, there is no need for the installation of gas lines or electricity to make them functional. Additionally, a fire pit can double as an appliance to heat small meals, warm a room, provide light and burn trash. This column centers on teaching you the best techniques for preparing tea on your fire pit.
To get water to boil, your fire must be set up properly. Do not forget to arrange kindling (i.e. sticks, twigs, or leaves) in a small pile. The wood has to be stack in a way that allows air circulation while permitting close proximity to each piece to both the kindling and to the other pieces. It might take few tries to get your fire burning strong. Hence, you need to keep adding kindling as needed. Once your fire is strong and some of the logs and flame are burning blue you can proceed to the next step.
Step Two – Add The Kettle
You may choose to use a kettle or a pan to boil your water, depending on which is more durable or available.If you are actually looking to use your kettle in a wood stove, you will want to eschew the prettier versions for one made of some sort of metal that can handle the heat. Even though it could cause strain, the container could be held over a fire. It might make more sense to put the container near the fire’s edge yet still near the heat source. Grills are available in some settings, and the simplest solution is probably to just put the container on the grill, atop the flames. However you do it, bring the water to a boil or to the temperature you prefer.
Tea
You can let the tea simmer over the fire, or prepare individual cups by pouring hot water over loose or bagged tea. Keep in mind that the smoke from the fire may alter the taste of the tea a bit, so the connoisseur may want to wait to add tea until they have water in their own personal cup. Let the tea steep for a few minutes and enjoy!
